AI has been influencing the healthcare industry since a long time, but in a groundbreaking achievement, scientists at the University of Cambridge have successfully leveraged AI algorithms to analyze cognitive tests and MRI brain scans towards early and non-invasive detection of Alzheimer’s. The study was based on inputs from 1,500 patients in the UK, USA and Singapore.
The AI algorithms were able to distinguish people with mild mental agility problems that would remain stable from those who would progress to Alzheimer’s disease over the next 3 years.
